Five Minute Friday - Hidden - The Hidden Parts of the Heart

Here is to another Five Minute Friday. The word is "hidden".

Everyone knows that person that doesn't seem to open up to you at all but seems to have a heavy heart. They are lost. They need Jesus. They have hurt, pain, and anger in their lives but what is in their hearts is hidden.

As someone who went to school to study psychology, it is frustrating for me to deal with people like that because I care and I want to understand where they are coming from. It is mostly hard when it is a loved one and I don't know what their heart is hiding from me.

But what God has been pressing on my heart is that He knows what is in their hearts. Nothing is hidden from Him. He sees all and knows all. Resting in that helps me to pray for those who I want to know what is hidden in their hearts in order to bless them.

Here are some things that we can pray for those who have hidden things in their hearts

1) Ask God to reveal to you things that He wants to show you from their hearts

2) Ask God to see them the way He sees them.

3) If you struggle with feeling frustration or anger towards them, pray that God can reveal to you what is hidden in your heart to be able to reach that person the way He wants you to.

  1. I understand this so much! It's frustrating when others are clearly struggling but they don't or won't voice their or needs. I want to help! Thanks for your words! Visiting from FMF :)

  2. I'm sorry but your point #2 makes no sense to me.. .why would I want to ask God that HE see people they way they view him? I'm thinking perhaps that was worded poorly? Cause it confused me completely. My approach to troubled folks is simply to pray that God move in their lives and that they be open to God's action. visiting from FMF #39,

    1. Thank you for pointing this out. As a human being we get frustrated with people when we dont understand them. But God knows their heart inside and outside, what they have been through and fully understands them. I think as humans we are so quick to judge and quick to get angry and hold onto bad feelings towards them because we dont understand their heart. By asking God to see them the way He sees them is asking Him to see them as a human being with a heart that is desperately wicked who needs Jesus. It is kinda like humbling yourself by thinking less of yourself and more of them. Hope that makes sense thanks for stopping by

  3. Oh, my, I feel so bad that I have been so long in visiting you, dear friend. It meant so much to me that you had come by my blog and left a sweet comment. Our old email address is no longer working, so I am going to re-sign up using a new address. I have stopped getting your posts, and I have missed you! God bless you and keep you always in His care.

  5. Great advice, Kristina! It's difficult when loved ones have hidden the devil's lies in their hearts. Praying for the eyes of Jesus is so important.
