Five Minute Friday- Heal - Broken Hearts
Here is to another Five Minute Friday. The word is "heal".
When I think about the word "heal", Jesus heals our hearts kept coming to my mind. He does. It is only Him who can do it. And only He knows if our hearts have truly been healed. Remember the verse in Matthew 25 that says that when we die that God will either tell us well done, good and faithful servant or depart from Me, I do not know you. How many people out there that we think have there hearts healed by Jesus aren't really healed? That's a scary thought. As humans it is so easy to do all the right things and give everyone the idea that we are right with God by leaning on our own strength. But what about our hearts? Jesus was obsessed with people's hearts. Why aren't we more like Him? It is as simple as allowing Him to come into our lives as we humbly seek Him because we do do wrong things and allow him to heal our hearts from our sins.

Kristina,
ReplyDeleteexcellent thoughts to ponder. I love that you point out our need to rely on Jesus for strength instead of our own so others don't have a false sense of us.

Thanks for stopping by. I am just glad that when we truly are saved how His strength is available for us to be a witness to others
DeleteOur thoughts are in a similar vein Kristina. Great points to think about.
ReplyDeletewhat is your heart towards this? I am not perfect towards looking at the hearts but I want to be better. thanks for stopping by
DeleteI know one broken heart that needs to be healed - my wife's. She lost her beloved 18-year-old dog this evening, and she is more desolate than I have ever seen a human being (and I have seen plenty).
ReplyDeleteShe needs Jesus' touch; the help a Zen master/combat operator who sees life and death as two sides of the same coin isn't much good. Doing my best, but I see the discontinuity.
If you could pray for Barbara, I would be grateful.

It is most definitely a heart issue. #21 at FMF
ReplyDeleteIt is! It really is! But I think as humans and sadly sometimes the church we get so caught up on works and what makes us feel good. thank you for stopping by : )
DeleteOh yes, Kristina...scary and even more than that terribly sad. But we serve a God who doesn't want one soul to perish...and I've been amazed at the heart healing He has been bringing to both myself and those close to me. Praising Him for His loving and patient pursuit.
ReplyDeleteI also wrote about healing and broken hearts, though a little different from yours. You know, it is easy to fool other people, but we can never hide from God. He knows our hearts, and I am so glad He is faithful, loving and forgiving. Where would we be without Him? Blessings to you!
