The Only Thing that We all need

The past two or three weeks I have been really thinking about our world and how to the human eye everything is falling apart.

There is no more right or wrong.

You really cannot trust anyone anymore when it comes to public issues.

Our election is a joke. No matter who we vote for, our country will just continue to plummet down further.

People who you thought had values and morals let you down.

Our internet is officially given over to communist countries such as Russia and China.

The Social Security fund is being robbed because of our government's poor spending.

It seems like every other day there is a terrorist attack in some public place filled with innocent people.

When people say they fear for their children and their children's children, they have every right. One can believed that of course if you don't know the word of God.

God has been challenging me to pour myself into His word and I want to challenge you to do the same.

It is the only truth!
It is the only thing that is firm and stable.
It is the only thing that has not changed and will not ever change.
It is real and active and can change people's lives.

It is going to be the only thing that will help us in the future to come. It is going to be the only thing that we can hold onto. It is the only thing that will help our children and their children. Things are going to be twisted and we have to know the truth. Otherwise we will succumb to this world. We need God's word.

Here are some verses that I want to share with you

 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12NKJV

I will meditate on Your precepts,
And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word. Psalm 119:15-16

Let Your mercies come also to me, O LordYour salvation according to Your word.
42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word. Psalm 119:41-42

The cords of the wicked have bound me,
But I have not forgotten Your law. Psalm 119:61

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right,
And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
76 Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort,
According to Your word to Your servant. Psalm 119:75-76

You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in Your word. Psalm 119:114

But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:10-16

Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 1 Tim 4:15-16

 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward Psalm 19:7-11

  2. Wow. All these words are so true. Thank you for sharing these power filled scriptures. I have thought much this year over the power of deception. How it is sooo close to truth at times that we must not be leaning on our own understanding to decipher it. I have gotten into major trouble before and succumbed to deception by Leaning on my own understanding. It never works out. Only the truth can break the blinders of deception. In Beth Moores book Praying Gods Word she writes that we know we have been deceived when we start to deceive !! It's a tell tale sign.

  3. Hi Kristina,
    Distressing news stories do make us feel discouraged but you're right that truth doesn't change and we can rest in the thought that God is in control of the universe, no matter what happens, and in that we have to place our trust!

  4. Oh, dear friend! I can SO relate to all you are feeling. It is a very discouraging time, indeed, and God has to continually bring my perspective into focus, too. If ever we needed to be on our knees before Him, crying out to Him, seeking His face, repenting of our own wicked ways, and being willing to humble ourselves, it is now. I am so sorry to know your week has been so hard. I am praying for you right now, and please know that even though it feels that you are alone in the burden you carry for our nation and all that is happening, you are not alone. I think often of Elijah and how he felt alone and God reminded him that there were 7000 who had not bowed the knee to Baal. The Bible says that there is still a remnant EVEN NOW...those who are sold out to God and who will not bend their knee to any other than Him. I am here for you, sweet friend, if you ever need to talk or pray together. Sending you much love today.
